ECI Holds the Inaugural Ceremony of 'New Wave' Calligraphy Exhibition

The calligraphy exhibition 'New Wave' was held jointly by ECO Cultural Institute and Iran National Commission for UNESCO at the ECO Diplomatic Art Gallery.

According to ECI public relations, the inaugural ceremony of this arts-cultural event was held on Thursday February 6, 2020 at ECO Diplomatic Art Gallery. Present at the ceremony were ambassadors; ECO diplomatic officials; Spokesman, director general of public diplomacy and other officials of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; director of Music Museum; caretaker of Niavaran cultural center and a group of cultural figures and artists.
The exhibition opened during this event showcased 40 calligraphy works written in Shekasteh Nastaliq script by outstanding artists of the field including Mohammad Heidari, Fereshteh Hosseini, Gholamali Gooran, Zabihollah Loloee Mehr and Shamseddin Moradi.
At the opening, Sarvar Bakhti, the ECI president; Hojatollah Ayoubi, secretary general of Iran National Commission for UNESCO; Seyed Abbas Mousavi, Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; prominent calligraphy masters such as Gholamhossein Amirkhani, Yadollah Kaboli and Mohammad Heidari, delivered speeches on the importance of the art of calligraphy among cultures, its role in the exchange of ideas among peoples, the role of the art of calligraphy in sustainable development of different nations while calling calligraphy one of the noblest arts resulting from the humanity's abstract mind.
The calligraphy exhibition 'New Wave' is open to public on February 9-10, 2020, at ECI headquarters. Those interested may visit the exhibition mounted at ECO Diplomatic Art Gallery from 10:00 to 16:00. ECO Diplomatic Art Gallery is located at No. 10, Bagher al-Nemer str., Movahed Danesh (Aqdasieh) Ave.
